David advises on mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital raising (including early stage funding rounds) and finance transactions as well as a range of commercial and corporate advisory matters ranging from joint ventures and shareholder arrangements to corporate structuring and reorganisations and financial services.

David has a particular focus on private mergers and acquisitions and early stage fundraising and has acted for a number of private equity and venture capital funds as well as early stage businesses with capital needs.  David is listed as a recommended lawyer in the 2021 Doyle’s guide to the Australian legal profession.

David was formerly general counsel and company secretary for a listed funds management company and listed investment company which means he has a genuine insight into the issues faced by boards and is well placed to advise on both transaction issues and governance and compliance.  David’s clients value his ability to solve problems, understand the commercial drivers behind transactions and achieve commercial outcomes for clients in a way which protects their legal position.
